About Leslie

When not working for $$ and as a development and innovation consultant for biotech tools and applications companies, Leslie spends her days working on other kinds of projects and then enjoying them.  These include:

  1. Making improvements to a 1964 Airstream globetrotter,
  2. Taking the 1964 Airstream Globetrotter to great places like the high Sierra, Mojave desert and the Northern California Coast,
  3. Writing cross-genre (fantasy-romance) fiction,
  4. Working on a 1962 Jaguar E-type,
  5. Improving and maintaining her 1974 Eichler home,
  6. Cooking great food in her award winning Greenmeadow Architect Designed Kitchen for a very few and very many people, and
  7. Integrating bleeding edge consumer electronics into everyday life.

In doing many projects she has learned a lot about how to do projects.  Perhaps some of that will be of use to you.

Hi there. I loved reading your write-up about installing Ikea cabinets in your Airstream. I am contemplating doing the same. Do you have more after photos? What about your upper cabinets? Also, is that purple acrylic as a dividing wall? I’m starting to plan all this out so anything you can share would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi Kyle
Funny you should comment today. I’m working on a new blog post right now about the cabinets. The purple acrylic is not a dividing wall, it’s applied to the Ikea cabinets with contact cement. I don’t think the acrylic is sturdy enough to use as structure inside the trailer. But if you built a frame for it, that would probably work. The upper cabnets are all orginal. All we did was either remove them (over the kitchen) or cover them with aluminum over the gauchos.

Look for a post later today. I will be putting up the plans for our new layout. If you would like the omni graffle versions let me know.
    Leslie
