Now the electrical systems has undergone a few revisions since these pages were penned, but here is where Chris started back in February of ‘01 when we first took delivery of the new baby. <LD>
The electrical system in our trailer was originally Univolt. The transformer had been replaced with a GE unit, and the switches for DC current for both the pumps/fans and the lights were broken. The PO solved this problem by clipping an inverter to the battery and pluging the shore power hookup into the inverter (!!). My solution was to replace all the electrical sources. The components I ended up with are:
Kyocera solar panel.
Morningstar SunSaver 6 solar charge controller.
Link 20 battery monitor.
Statpower Poratwatz 1750 inverter.
Statpower TrueCharge 20+ charger.
Here is a diagram of how it all goes together, and into the trailer:

I think it’s important to note at this point that this system, essentially intact has been in place in our trailer now since February 2001. We have changed a few things but the major pieces and the design has served us very well. <LD>
